James's Eagle Project

James completed his Eagle Project on Jan. 2nd and I am so proud of him! He was asked to sort childrens books to be sent to a Library on an Indian Reservation in Louisiana. The library had been ruined due to hurricanes and needed new books for the children. James had 13 friends help sort through 4 pallets of books and check to make sure they were in good condition. He then sorted into groups of childrens, adults, or religious books and packed up the children's books to be sent to Louisiana. It was a fun project and with that many boys, it didn't take too long. James was contacted by a newspaper agency in Louisiana and his project will be published in the paper. It was a really neat experience and I'm so glad he is able to help these children in this area. We only need to finish the paperwork now and then he will be an EAGLE SCOUT!! Yea!

Our Crazy Lives!!!

Wow! I can't believe I haven't blogged for over a month! Life got really crazy and busy during the Holidays but we had lots of fun.
Here's an overview of the month...

James singing in Madrigals (I know, bad picture, but it's the best I could get at a distance)

Lauren and Natalie making Gingerbread Houses

Making chocolate pretzels for Primary Leader gifts

Celebrating the Holidays with a fantastic Christmas Dinner/Party with friends

Opening the Traditional "Christmas PJ's" a few days early since Jeff and Jenny weren't with us for Christmas

Our annual sledding day on Christmas Eve

Our traditional Christmas Eve with the family: LOTS of Great Food, Christmas stories from Dad, and this year: entertainment by Lexi - she was quite a pill!

Enjoying Christmas day with lots of presents and family. James got a leather jacket, Lauren got a camera, and Natalie got a Nintendo DS. The family got Ultimate Band and had a fun time playing together!

Phil and I enjoyed our 17th Anniversary in Logan at the Anniversary Inn. We took in a movie, had Aggie Ice Cream, and watched 2 Utah State basketball games on the front row

Brought in 2009 with our traditional waffle breakfast. We also toasted bagels in our new toaster, too! Happy New Year!
